Kicking Dance Directory off with a Pre-launch offer

So as to kick things off with this dance directory website it was decided to promote a pre-launch offer so as to deal with real information, provided by real people, and by those people who actively wished to be included with the dance directory. 

Many weeks had been spent beforehand in marketing the dance directory name via social media (predominantly twitter @dance_directory) in order to slowly create an awareness of not only the dance directory itself but also ‘ABOUT Dance’ which is the business recently been started and which was developing the dance directory website as its first service to the dance industry. 

A decision was taken early on not to offer a dance directory listing as FREE, because there were expenses outlaid and time spent, so somewhere, somehow how these had to be recoverable. 

An e-mailer was sent out week commencing the 26^th January 2015 promoting the pre-launch offer for a distinction listing for the princely sum of £65.00 per year for life, meaning as long as they actively remain a member of dance directory. 

Largely the e-mailer was well received and even purchases took place which was very encouraging and served a purpose whilst the website was in beta testing. Sadly, also there were a small number of dance businesses which unsubscribed from the e-mailer. Which of course was fine, but then the question would have to be WHY? 

Is it because they may have read the mailer wrongly, or perhaps they do not see the value in their dance business being with dance directory. Whatever the reason hopefully over time things will become clearer. 

The whole idea of building a dance directory is to become a centralised point for the many dance schools, businesses and organisations to reach out to the UK’s dance community. 

The pre-launch offer of £65.00 for a distinction listing which when the site is fully live could cost up to £250 per year is only on offer until 23.59 pm 31^st January 2015.
