Spot the Birmingham Royal Ballet dancers as you've never seen them before

Here are ballet dancers as you’ve never seen them before, out and about in Birmingham.

The artists were snapped in iconic city locations to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Birmingham Royal Ballet.

They are pictured in full costume while lounging by the Floozie in the Jacuzzi in Victoria Square and waiting for a train at Moor Street Station.

The pictures will appear on posters with the slogan ‘Your ballet company since 1990, thank you Birmingham’ which will be appearing on buses, trains and poster sites around the city from next week.

And as the campaign goes on, there will be more photographs in locations such as Cannon Hill Park and the markets.

As principal dancer Iain Mackay, one of the company’s stalwarts, says: “We are lucky to be in Birmingham but sometimes Birmingham doesn’t know how great we are. We should promote ourselves more.

“We have world-class superstars but we don’t shout about it.

“There are a lot of beautiful people in the company. They make ballet sexy and should be on posters and the cover of magazines.”

This year marks 25 years since Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet moved to the Midlands and became Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Since then they have staged more than 130 different ballets at their home of Birmingham Hippodrome.

They have also taken the Birmingham brand across the world to perform in South Africa, Japan, China, Hong Kong and the USA.
