The BTEC course is a National Award in Performing Arts (Dance) and is equivalent to one GCE A level. It provides an understanding of the Performing Arts with a specific focus on the essential skills, techniques and disciplines needed for a career in dance.
The qualification that a BTEC course provides is an insight into the employment opportunities which are available, helping you to choose a dance career or move on to further dance study. A BTEC course takes place over 2-3 years, however with changes to the BTEC course specification, there may be an opportunity to do a 1-year course (BTEC level 3 certificate) equivalent to one GCE AS level, or it may be already included within the BTEC course itself.
