Outstanding dance training experiences for students aged 18 months to young adults. We offer multi-faceted IDTA dance classes & dance teacher training to the highest levels. Timmins Academy has something for everyone who walks through our doors.
Timmins Academy of Dance offers a unique training experience for students aged 18 months to young adults. Our dance teaching focuses on the versatile IDTA syllabus designed and created by the International Dance Teachers Association.
Our specialism is in Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Lyrical and Theatre Craft, Musical Theatre and Street Dance.
We cater for dance examinations, available from grades - to majors, offering our dance students a sense of achievement as they progress through school and a sense of focus outside their daily academic lives.
Our dance school was founded 40 years ago by Miss Lynne Fox and is regarded as one of the most established training grounds in the West Midlands for young amateur dancers.
Growing numbers of past students go on to gain entry into some of the UK’s leading classical ballet, musical theatre and teaching institutions and have successful careers in the industry.
Some of our students have progressed to further their dance training at schools including, but not limited to:
The Royal Ballet School
Central School of Ballet
Arts Educational
Bird College
Urdang Academy
BOA
Phil Winstons Theatreworks
Northern Ballet School
The Royal Academy of Dancing
We offer an in-depth approach and excellence in teaching and work closely with the students and parents to ensure they achieve their expectations.
All our students are encouraged to strive to be the best dancers they can be, whether they attend to keep fit, meet other like-minded children or focus on the future with a desire to further their dance training.
We welcome new students into our school, where our dance classes are vibrant, positive and rewarding for every student. We are proud to be inspiring a new generation of young performers.
TIMMINS ACADEMY OF DANCE takes place every Friday & Saturday at Hasbury Primary School. This beautifully kept school offers two fantastic-sized halls for the children to dance in. The school has a lovely friendly atmosphere inside and is comfortable for parents to stay whilst their children are in class.
Where I really got into dance
At the age of three I went to my very first dance lesson at the Timmins Academy of Dance, Miss Lynn always encouraged and worked hard to instill discipline into all her dance students. Upon her retirement Jayne and Katie took over the dance school - really enjoyed my thirteen years there - thank you, and all the best for the future
