Dozens of dancers from one of the region's top dance schools will be representing England in the Dance World Cup.
The 46 young members of the Dupont Dance Stage School, just off Belgrave Gate, Leicester, will take part in the finals of the world's biggest dancing competition on the Channel Island of Jersey in the summer.
The dancers taking part are aged from six to 18 and will perform 42 dances as part of a 550-strong England team in June.
Rebecca Sarrafan, Dupont Dance Stage School principal said: "The selectors were so impressed with our students that they have been chosen to perform 11 solos, 10 duets, four trios, three quartets and 14 group dances for Team England, in a variety of genres including classical ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre.
"Dupont will be the largest delegation from an East Midlands based dance school, and there is no doubt that we will form a critical part in England's efforts to return from Jersey with a haul of medals.
"We are extremely honoured to be representing Leicester internationally.
"We have been based in the city since we were founded 60 years ago, and we really hope our home town can get behind us."
The World Cup will see dancers from 40 countries compete in the disciplines of classical ballet, modern dance, tap, song and dance, street, hip hop and national dance.
More than 18,000 competitors from around the world have competed in the national qualifiers.
Some of the dances that the Dupont dancers will perform at the World Cup will also be performed at the school's annual production, which will take place on January 30 and January 31 at De Montfort Hall.

The dance school is fundraising to raise the £25,000 needed to get all 46 dancers to Jersey.
