Dance adventure for children coming to three Bedfordshire locations

A new piece of dance theatre created specifically for children is being performed in three venues around Bedford over the next few weeks.

Where the River Runs is set in an unknown place deep in the wilderness, and described as an energetic yet simple story of an adventurer trying to cross a river and what happens when water suddenly comes to life.

The work combines contemporary dance, comedy, acrobatics and original music, and is presented by theatre company Full House.

A spokesman said: “This exuberant performance captures the delirious excitement of running through the undergrowth only to be abruptly halted by a raging river.

“This dynamic and beautiful piece will have both children and their grown-ups enthralled with stunning movement, great storytelling and some spectacular lifts.

“The creation of the piece has been funded by Arts Council England and Harpur Trust, and is supported by Bedford Borough Council ward funding.

Admission to the 30-minute show is free of charge. It will be performed at Bedford Central Library on Saturday, September 12, at 11am, 12 noon and 2pm; Kempston Library on Saturday, September 19 at 11am; Queen’s Park Community Centre on Saturday, September 19, at 2.30pm; and at Sharnbrook Village Hall at 11am on Saturday September 26.
