BalletBoyz' World Premiere of Them Us at Sadler's Wells

Rehearsal images and a video trailer are released today for the world premiere of Them/Us presented by the internationally acclaimed all-male dance troupe BalletBoyz ahead of their new UK tour, from 23 February to 28 April, and one-week residency at London’s Sadler’s Wells from 5 to 9 March, 2019, with opening night for press on 6 March. A co-production with Sadler’s Wells, Them/Us is an innovative double bill and celebrates a brand new collaboration from the company’s own critically acclaimed dancers and the Tony and Olivier Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon.

BalletBoyz, applauded worldwide for their ground-breaking live shows, films and TV appearances, will also be collaborating in a one-off exclusive performance with the global pop sensation Olly Alexander of Years & Years on BBC 1’s The Greatest Dancer on Saturday 9 February, from 7.35pm.

The new productions Them/Us are both set to original scores by world-class composers and ask where we see ourselves in relation to the “other”. Them uniquely marks the first ever production in the company’s 19-year history to be created solely by BalletBoyz’ own in-house talent. Set and developed in tandem to music by composer Charlotte Harding, Them stems from the ethos and origins behind BalletBoyz, for the dancers to be intimately involved in the creative process.

Us is inspired by the critically acclaimed Christopher Wheeldon duet featured in the company’s last show, Fourteen Days. With an extended score by cult singer/songwriter, Keaton Henson, Christopher Wheeldon develops this new work which explores human connections and the possibilities of before, during and after.

The current BalletBoyz company includes Sean Flanagan, Benjamin Knapper, Harry Price, Liam Riddick, Dominic Rocca, Matthew Sandiford and Bradley Waller.

Tickets for Them/Us at Sadler’s Wells are now on sale at www.sadlerswells.com

The production is also touring to Edinburgh, Yeovil, Lichfield, Salisbury, Bromley, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Exeter, Chester, Richmond, Guildford, Glasgow, High Wycombe, Oxford, London arts depot and Bristol with tickets available via www.balletboyz.com.
